This was a fun model. I built it after reading some excellent tutorials on Brickbuilt, the Snyder brothers' blog. As is, its relatively simple, but I think the techniques used pair nicely with each other, and it looks pleasant. The rockwork is basic SNOT, made easier by the BrickHeadz square-SNOT part.

STAR BEST GIRL!!!: A History of Huwbot and His Clikits- Part 1

Any frequent reader of Brickset and, especially, its April Fools 2019 articles
and Random Set of the Day feature, will be familiar with Huwbot's strange
fascination with the theme known as Clikits. I have attempted, to the best of my ability, to compile here a history of Huwbot's odd obsession and its repercussions throughout the Brickset Community. What did I find? Read on after the break.

Reviewing Two Favorite DIscworld Novels Very Quickly: Night Watch and Hogfather

In this article series, I will review two favorite Discworld novels, but- get this- very quickly. Wow. The reviews will be short and concise, and rate the books out of 10 stars hard-boiled eggs. Enjoy.

NIGHT WATCH I believe that this is Pratchett’s single greatest work. It’s still patently hilarious, but thought-provoking and wise. Just imagine Douglas Adams and Kurt Vonnegut re-writing Les Miserables. Vimes serves as a dynamic central character, and while cameos from favorite characters (young Nobby Nobbs anyone?) add to the fun, they don’t overwhelm the plot. Do yourself a favor and go read it. 10/10 HOGFATHER I love Hogfather. It’s a fantastically weird Discworld romp, full of sly comments and satirical asides. However, it feels a bit all over the place, skipping around from a bizarre plot to steal children’s teeth, to wizards creating new entities to explain natural phenomena, to Death becoming Santa. But really, the reason it’s so good is because it’s mainly about Death assuming the role of Santa. 8/10

(MOC) Iron Man

After a complete fail of a first go at a sculptural Iron Man MOC (don't go looking for it), I decided that this time I was going to build one that was at least MOST of the character, and not just a disembodied arm. It turned out to be a smart move.

This was surprisingly quick to design; it took about an hour, and then intermittent fine-tuning over the next few days while working on other MOCs. The model is actually relatively simple. It's essentially a studs-up body with some SNOT parts built in, then some armor plates and the arms added on. The head is slightly more complex. It uses studs-up, studs-to-the-side, and studs-out building techniques. The model then sits on a 6x6 webbed radar dish element that's used as a base. Finally, there is a single 1x1 tile that's placed upside-down above the Arc Reactor to fill in some space.

All said and done, I feel like this is one of the better MOCs I've done. It's not overly complex, except where it's necessary for the shaping, and it looks pretty good in my opinion.

I'm working on building a similar model of War Machine, so look out for that soon.

I have created this blog for writing whatever I feel like writing, whenever I feel like writing it. This will mostly involve LEGO and books. I like both of those things. A lot.
